We enjoyed several long weekends in Zeeuws Vlaanderen (Zeelandic Flanders), the southernmost region of the province of Zeeland in south-western Netherlands. A quite and not yet so touristy area with cute little villages, local Appelaere appel juice and brocante vintage shops. Zeeuws Vlaanderen is also close to Belgium so you can even squeeze in a day trip to beautiful Bruges if you have time. Villages to visit in Zeeuws Vlaanderen
Breskens
With Beach Club Loods Tien and the Frietkotter for delicious fries and snacks, you wouldn't want to miss Breskens. Rent a bike and cycle from Breskens to Sluis or book dinner at Restaurant Spetters. Have you spotted the famous mural by Johnny Beerens in the harbour?
Cadzand (Bad)
A small sea side village with lots of upcoming restaurants and bars. Book a stay at the famous Strandhotel Cadzand-Bad with dinner at Pure C from chefkock Sergio Herman. The perfect ingredients for a romantic weekend away.
Groede
Probably one of the cutest picturesque little villages in Zeeland. Cute cobbled streets and a lovely market square. Groede is not big but certainly a well know village in Zeeuws Vlaanderen. Sit down at Cafe De Drie Koningen for a drink or at Fonteyn Groede for coffee, cake and ice cream.
Ijzendijke
Another picture perfect village in Zeeuws Vlaanderen with authentic mill De Witte Juffer. Have you also spotted the art fresco?
Nieuwvliet (Bad)
A small village with lots of holiday home parks near the beach. From here you can easily get to Beach Club Dok 14.
Retranchement
The westernmost village on the Dutch Coast. Here you'll find Camping De Wachtsluis and Theetuin Het Juffertje.
Sluis
A great town for shopping and nice food places, so many bars ans restaurants. Sluis gets busy on the weekend with lots of tourists. If you don't have a problem with that you should certainly visit this cute village near the border of Belgium. The fishmonger, De Molen van Sluis and Eetboetiek Sluis are on the list.

Eetboetiek Sluis - Owned by the brother of well known chef Sergio Herman, who used to have the world famous three star Michelin restaurant Oud Sluis in this building. Things To Do in Zeeuws Vlaanderen
Charlotte's Pompoenen - Pumpkin parties, popup dinners and high tea parties. Pumpkins everywhere. What a feast. Great with little ones.
Rent a bike and cycle along the coast of West Zeelandic Flanders. Cycle over the dunes and through the green polders of the "Verdronken Zwarte Polder"or follow the path to "Het Zwin" a nature reserve that consists of a slufter with a polder landscape on the Belgian border. You'll find many birds and plants.
